TOP STORY
Now Trump Wants Taxpayers to Pay Him $10 Billion Over His Own Leaked Tax Returns

Donald Trump is suing the federal government for $10 billion—money that would come directly from your pocket—because someone leaked his tax returns to journalists six years ago. The president wants you to pay him billions because the public found out he didn’t pay federal income taxes for years.
WHAT’S GOING ON: Trump filed suit Thursday in a Florida federal court against the IRS and Treasury Department—agencies he now controls as president. His sons Eric and Don Jr., along with the Trump Organization, are also plaintiffs. The complaint claims the leak of Trump’s tax records caused “reputational and financial harm” and “unfairly tarnished their business reputations.”
But here’s the thing: The guy who actually leaked the information, former IRS contractor Charles Littlejohn, was already caught, prosecuted, and sentenced to five years in prison. Justice was served. Case closed.
But that’s not enough for Trump. He wants a $10 billion payday on top of it.

🗞️ Making News
Eight Republicans Join ALL Democrats to Block DHS Funding Over ICE Abuses
Eight GOP senators broke ranks Thursday and joined every single Democrat to kill a Department of Homeland Security funding bill—blocking $64.4 billion for the agency overseeing ICE’s increasingly brutal operations in Minneapolis. Democrats are demanding basic accountability measures before they’ll fund the agency that’s killed two American citizens in two weeks, and they’re willing to shut down the government Saturday to get it. Veterans Affairs Tried to BLOCK Memorial Service for Alex Pretti
The Department of Veterans Affairs tried to stop a memorial service for Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old ICU nurse and veteran caregiver shot ten times by ICE agents in Minneapolis. Officials told local VA leadership to “pause the memorial.” VA employees say they’re grieving a colleague who dedicated his career to serving veterans, only to be told by Trump appointees to memorialize him “in their own way” without interfering with work duties. Minnesota Man impersonates FBI agent in bid to FREE Luigi Mangione from jail
I’m telling you, they are built different in Minnesota. A Minnesota man allegedly showed up at Luigi Mangione’s Brooklyn detention center claiming to be an FBI agent with a court order for his release—armed with a barbecue fork, a pizza cutter blade, and absolutely zero federal credentials. Top Election Denier Was Part of FBI Raid on Georgia Election Office
The DOJ lawyer who authorized this week’s FBI raid on a Georgia election office? He used to work as second-in-command to Missouri’s attorney general—who actively tried to overturn the 2020 election. Thomas Albus signed off on the warrant that sent federal agents to seize 700 boxes of records from Fulton County, the same county Trump infamously pressured to “find” votes, based on a Venezuela conspiracy theory that was already debunked in court in 2023. The AI Job Apocalypse Is Here: Why Corporate America’s Mass Layoffs Are a Feature, Not a Bug
Another day, another mass layoff announcement disguised as “efficiency.” This week, chemicals giant Dow announced it’s axing 4,500 jobs—on top of the 1,500 it already cut earlier this year. The reason? A familiar corporate line about “streamlining operations” and “putting more emphasis on AI and automation.”
