Trump HUMILIATES his own Senate candidate

At a Wednesday crisis meeting with vulnerable Republican candidates in the paved-over Rose Garden, Donald Trump couldn't resist roasting Ken Paxton — the scandal-soaked Texas attorney general running for Senate — in front of the room.

Paxton wasn't even there, which didn't stop Trump from cataloguing what he finds personally unlikable about the man he's supposed to be boosting.

The dinner was convened specifically because Republicans are heading into a brutal midterm cycle, which makes the public humiliation of a key Senate hopeful already struggling in Texas even more hilarious.

Meanwhile, a Politico survey found that dozens of Republican candidates are refusing to attend Trump's unprecedented Dallas convention beginning September 9, with many citing "obligations" and others simply going dark. Maggie Haberman noted the convention planning reflects "how small his circle is." In addition to his hands.

When the host pushed him about Trump's AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ, Vance did not hesitate. "He's not trying to offend people, he's trying to keep things light," Vance said. "He's a bit of a ballbuster."

So: Antichrist probably walking among us. And the guy posting AI Jesus selfies is just goofing around. Make of that what you will.

Vance rated his own chances of getting into Heaven at "a seven or an eight."

He meant out of 100, right?

Jon Ossoff isn't just leading in Georgia — he's doing it by making Republican mayors his most effective surrogates.

The conservative mayors of Toccoa, Valdosta, and Tifton have all publicly endorsed the Democratic incumbent over Trump's chosen challenger, citing Ossoff's direct responsiveness: he secures grants, returns calls, and shows up for communities that didn't vote for him. Mayor Fry, who voted against Ossoff six years ago, is now one of his most credible validators.

With Trump's endorsee Mike Collins struggling to generate enthusiasm and Georgia Republicans openly defecting, Ossoff is building exactly the kind of cross-partisan coalition that wins close states. Someone should be taking notes — or just throw in the towel, already.

Gas prices are hitting $4.03 per gallon over Labor Day weekend — the highest on record — and Trump's war in Iran is a primary reason why.
