Even a state funeral couldn't keep Donald Trump awake. 

At Tuesday's service for Sen. Lindsey Graham at Washington National Cathedral, multiple video clips showed the president visibly nodding off in his seat, eyes and head drooping as eulogies played out around him.

That was after Trump went off-script to mock Graham at his own funeral, and appeared to forget Graham’s name before recovering — this supercut covers all the “best” moments.

Then, there was this: mid-service, he pulled out a container of Tic Tacs, awkwardly attempted to toss one into his own mouth — and missed. 

Graham, 71, died suddenly on July 11 of an aortic dissection. World leaders including Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended — a nod to Graham's decades as one of Washington's most hawkish foreign policy voices.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear sent a formal letter to Mitch McConnell on Monday demanding he speak publicly or resign.

Beshear explained what McConnell's team has been hoping no one would say out loud: the senator's prolonged silence may be a deliberate strategy to run out the clock and deny Kentucky voters a voice, noting that August 3 may be the last date by which Beshear could call a special election to fill the seat.

McConnell has been absent since a fall at his Washington home on June 14 — 43 days with no video, no public statement, only two photos of him sitting and smiling next to his wife.

A vascular surgeon told The Daily Beast his staff may be doing him "a harmful disservice" by claiming he'll return "soon." CNN's Erin Burnett pressed the issue on air Tuesday.

The August 3 deadline is five days away.

A federal appeals court is letting Trump move forward with an executive order that would change voting as we know it.

The order directs DHS to build a national citizenship registry and instructs the Postal Service to withhold mail-in ballots from states that don't share voter registration data with the federal government.

Courts declining to act on procedural grounds is not the same as courts finding the order lawful — but for voters trying to cast ballots this fall, the distinction may not matter.

A Guardian review of an ICE Health Service Corps document confirms that the Trump administration subjected at least one hunger striker in immigration detention to forced feeding, forced hydration, forced urinary catheterization, and involuntary blood draws. Healthcare associations and international human rights groups classify these practices as torture.

Separately, a court-appointed monitor found that California's largest ICE detention facility — the California City center north of Los Angeles — has failed to comply with a judge's orders to provide adequate healthcare, with major gaps in emergency care, medication access, and disability accommodations.

And in Missouri, a Guatemalan couple deported by ICE was found shot dead in a sugarcane field, their 14-month-old daughter crying next to her mother's body. This is the immigration system working as designed.

The Trump administration is planning to eliminate Medicare Part D subsidies after 2026, which currently keep prescription drug premiums low for roughly 25 million seniors. According to the Wall Street Journal, 45% of enrollees will see monthly premium increases of between $11 and $20 — and they'll find out in the fall, just as midterm campaigns hit their final stretch.

The administration has already overseen price increases for some 700 drugs.

Affordability is the number one issue in the midterms. Someone in this White House did the math and decided to do this anyway.
