Good morning and happy Tuesday! Rosie O’Donnell delivered a master class in trolling Trump last night as she began her stint filling in for Kimmel while he’s on vacation.

We’ll get into that, plus:

  • Trump attacks another female CNN reporter

  • Trump voted by mail — again — after spending years lying about mail-in ballots

  • SCOTUS shuts Trump down (for the second time) on E. Jean Carroll

  • And: Iran puts bounties on U.S. troops

But before we dive in: add your name to our petition below and help us reach our goal!

⚠️ Demand Democrats prosecute EVERY member of the Trump administration for their crimes

The Trump administration has been on a crime spree like nothing we've ever seen before. We let them walk the first time around. Not this time.

Tell Democrats: once you're back in power, prosecute every single member of the Trump administration.

We are so close to our goal of 7,000 signatures — help us reach our goal and add your name to the petition now!

1. Trump's White House attacks a CNN reporter, invokes her children, then calls Ossoff a "cuck loser"

It was another dignified Monday at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

CNN's Kristen Holmes asked Trump about Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff's comments on close aide Natalie Harp — Ossoff had called Trump's plane a "defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar" and questioned why Trump was traveling with Harp rather than doing his job.

Trump shouted "BE QUIET!" at Holmes, called her a "fake reporter," and the White House followed up with a social media post that mentioned her children and accused her of asking a "disgusting and inhumane question." CNN called the attack "beneath the office."

White House communications director Steven Cheung then responded to Ossoff's original comments by calling the senator a "cuck loser." The senator from Georgia is running for re-election in November. The White House is doing his campaign ads for him.

Do you think every member of the Trump administration should be prosecuted for their crimes?

2. Rosie O'Donnell trolls Trump as Kimmel’s guest host

Rosie O'Donnell kicked off her guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! by giving a shoutout to a special viewer in Washington, DC: "Hi! I know you're watching."

She opened with a direct message to the president who has spent years posting AI-generated insults about her. She never said his name once.

O'Donnell, who moved to Ireland after reading Project 2025 and deciding she'd seen enough, told the audience she's been living peacefully abroad while Trump continues to threaten to revoke her citizenship — a power he doesn't actually have.

Her response in July: "You're rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours.”

3. Trump voted by mail — again — after spending years lying about mail-in ballots

Palm Beach County voting records obtained by Politico show Trump mailed his ballot in Florida's Republican primary on August 13. This is at least the third time he has done so.

In March, Trump signed an executive order restricting mail-in voting ahead of the November midterms.

The White House says there's nothing odd about this. The White House is correct that there is nothing surprising about it.

4. The Iran hole gets deeper: ceasefire expires, Trump threatens Oman, Iran puts bounties on U.S. troops

The U.S.-Iran ceasefire deadline expired Monday (another one?), and Trump's response was to tell Fox News he'd "bomb the shit" out of Oman if it got in the way.

Iran's army chief announced bounties for the death or capture of American troops — starting at $30,000, doubled if a woman completes the mission.

Foreign policy analyst David Rothkopf told The Daily Beast that Trump has "dug himself into the deepest hole of his life," facing weapons shortages, declining troop morale, and an Iran that has only grown more emboldened. Sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln, deployed for months in the Strait of Hormuz, have been reporting deteriorating living conditions — which Trump dismissed in the Oval Office as "fake news reporting from CNN." He started a war he can't win and is now threatening the neutral party trying to broker a way out.

Last week, we asked, Do you think Hakeem Jeffries should be Speaker of the House?

92% OF YOU SAID NO:

  • “If the Democrats take control of the House (which looks more and more likely) then I think it 's going to be difficult for Jeffries to be elected Speaker because he will need the votes of the progressives and the Democratic Socialists, and I don't think he will get them!”

    - cdmalin

  • “If you can't get the majority of your party behind you, why are you even trying to be speaker.”

    - annaflorin99

  • “I was a community organizer in Crown Heights, Brooklyn in the early 2000's. I worked closely with Hakeem Jeffries and thought him a most honorable and brilliant man. At that time, he seemed very concerned with the welfare of his constituents. Now his policies and attitudes are unrecognizable to me, and I no longer support him. I wonder what happened to him.”

    - sandytaggart01

  • “He does not listen to what the voters want, just follows his same old tired agenda. He’s as establishment as the Republicans.”

    - a.smoot

  • “Hell no-! He is so far removed from the majority of every version of Democrat. Additionally, Of all the normally unacceptable actions by this administration----- lip service is all we get.”

    - a15anaya

  • “I think it's time for some serious changes to our government. He just said it himself, that he is out of touch with 90% of democratic voters. People don't want the same old bluster. Americans from all parties are sick of all talk no action. The younger Progressives are a breath of fresh air. We need leaders that are fighting for everyday people. ”

    - obitlinda1712

  • “He doesn’t represent the majority of the people in the party. We need someone who will stand for us and what we want and need. He always says to back the blue but he doesn’t always back who democrats choose.

    - dalesallybaldwin

  • “He has no idea how the working class is suffering. He is the old school part of political theater. We need political action.”

    - leilanisay

  • “It’s time for change across the board. This has been a inefficient, ineffective House and Senate. Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer both need to go, as do all the Republicans.”

    - kmschroyer
