Fox News just FIRED Trump's biggest defender

JD Vance held commandeered the White House press briefing on Thursday, and found a way to dodge nearly everything reporters threw at him.

When asked whether an American strike killed four people, including a child, at a wedding in southern Iran, Vance said he was "extremely skeptical" of the reports and that "sometimes things happen." The casualty figures came from the Iranian Red Crescent — not the Iranian government — an organization that international monitors treat as credible.

On Army Secretary Dan Driscoll's sudden ouster amid infighting with Pete Hegseth, all he'd offer was that Driscoll is "a very good friend of mine." And on inflation, he blamed Biden, then admitted he doesn't "really care who's to blame for it."

He insisted this is "the most transparent admin in history." This was the first press briefing in 42 days.

He also said about Democrats: “every inflation problem you’re worrying about today, they’re gonna make worse.”

Never mind that he’s the number 2 guy in charge and it’s… already getting worse.

Speaker Mike Johnson abruptly canceled the House's last two scheduled weeks of votes before the midterms, leaving members just four days in Washington before they scatter for six straight weeks of campaigning.

So the sequence is: five weeks off for summer, four days back, then Johnson tells reporters Republicans are "here to work" and have no plans to skip town, and within 48 hours he cancels two more weeks anyway.

"Republicans are here to work. We have a schedule, a calendar that's been out for a year. We are abiding by that calendar,” Johnson told reporters two days earlier.

The reversal comes right after the House passed a funding bill keeping the government open through December, Johnson's one must-pass priority, and as polls show Democrats favored to retake the House, with Republicans stuck defending an unpopular war in Iran and prices nobody can afford.

Johnson got what he needed and sent everyone home.

He’ll have a lot more free time on his hands soon.

A slew of leaked staff texts published by the Wall Street Journal detail a senator who is more interested in being on Fox News and protecting Israel than doing his actual job.

Texts show the senator called off a meeting with wheelchair-bound vets who'd traveled from rural Pennsylvania to talk about their care, claiming he'd eaten something bad — then walked into his D.C. office less than an hour later looking fine, ready for a Fox News hit.

The same texts show Fetterman skipped the funeral of three police officers near his hometown last September because the service ran three hours and required a suit, calling it a "nonstarter," and blew off a busload of Philadelphia flood victims who'd traveled to fight for their grant money, walking past them in the Capitol halls while they shouted his name.

He also dismissed a children’s hospital, naturally. His primary should be fun.

Maria Bartiromo was fired yesterday after it emerged she had leaked Fox News's internal instructions to the White House — specifically, directives not to air Trump's election conspiracy claims during his asinine July primetime address about Chinese interference in the 2020 election. Her executive producer was also axed.

Fox had told anchors to lay off the baseless election and China conspiracy claims — probably because they didn’t want to be sued again. Bartiromo wanted to run the story anyway, got blocked, then screenshotted the memo and sent it to senior White House officials.

Fox found out when the White House called them.

Trump, naturally, melted down publicly about losing his most loyal validator on cable.

This is the anchor Trump was still calling "FANTASTIC" two months ago — and who's currently a defendant in Smartmatic's $2.7 billion defamation suit over the 2020 election conspiracy theories she's accused of spreading on air.
