Subpoena season is coming!
Good morning and happy Tuesday! This is Notice News. It’s October 27, Election Day is one week out, and Vivek Ramaswamy is running out of places in Ohio that will let him in the door.
We’ll get into that, plus:
House Democrats want a special counsel to investigate Trump’s ties to Epstein
Trump’s oil and gas stocks may be up 43% while you pay more at the pump
Trump’s DOJ charged James Comey a third time, hours after a judge ruled it illegally fired his daughter
Trump says Brazil’s election looked “rigged.” Lula won by 4.4 million votes
The DOJ lost another election case, so Trump offered $1 million for fraud tips
Plus: A Mississippi heckler told Trump where to shove his ballroom
House Democrats say 11 women accuse Trump of abuse alongside Epstein. They want a special counsel.
House Judiciary Committee Democrats released a report Monday calling Trump an “active participant” in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the 1990s.
It details allegations from 11 women who say they were “abused, assaulted, and even raped” by Trump alongside Epstein. One involves a girl who was about 13 years old in 1984.
The newest comes from Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland. She told committee staff that Trump raped her in 1993 during his American Dream Pageant, the same day Epstein introduced himself to her as “Jeffrey, Don’s best friend.”
Afterward, she says, Trump repeated his promises of a U.S. visa and a spot at NYU, and told her, “The show must go on.”
In a 2024 interview, Keul described an attempted assault. The report doesn’t say why her account changed.
The report also accuses Attorney General Todd Blanche of repeatedly steering Ghislaine Maxwell away from a survivor whose account implicated Trump. Democrats say that may amount to witness tampering.
And it cites a redacted 2009 document quoting Trump saying Epstein was “never asked to leave” Mar-a-Lago. Trump has spent years saying he kicked him out.
Democrats want an independent special counsel to investigate both Trump and Blanche. Congress can’t appoint one, and this administration isn’t going to.
The White House called the report “nothing more than a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans” and said Trump “has been fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.” Trump denies the allegations.
One week from today, voters decide who runs the committee that wrote it.
Trump said he doesn’t “give a damn” about your gas prices. A new report says his oil stocks may be up 43%.
At a Georgia rally on Saturday, Trump bragged that the country is “making hundreds and hundreds of billions, trillions of dollars” off oil.
His own aides had begged him not to bring it up. “Please don’t mention that, sir,” he said they told him.
He knew how it would sound and said it anyway. “I don’t give a damn,” he said. “I’m going to say it... we’re making a freaking fortune.”
On Monday, Democrats on Congress’s Joint Economic Committee put a number on “we.” Trump’s personal oil and gas holdings may have jumped 43% in 10 months, to somewhere between $22.5 million and $81.6 million.
The same day, a CNN analysis found that the average gas price under Trump has now passed Biden’s average for his entire term. This year has already had more days above $4 a gallon than any year of Biden’s presidency.
“I don’t think anyone would have predicted this 10 months ago,” GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan told CNN.
The White House says “today’s high prices reflect preexisting issues.”
In 2024, he promised you gas under $2. He didn’t mention who’d be making the fortune.
Trump wants Abdul El-Sayed to walk through a metal detector. El-Sayed brought up the Qatari jet.
Trump flew to Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday to campaign for Republican Mike Rogers, and spent much of his time on Abdul El-Sayed, who would be the country’s first Muslim senator.
“I’m here to keep a jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member from becoming a United States senator,” Trump said.
He said El-Sayed would be “the only Senator who is required to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate.”
“I want him to have a metal detector!”
Then he brought up United Flight 93 and 9/11. “Michigan needs to stand up and fight, just like Todd did,” he said.
Even Bishara Bahbah, founder of Arab Americans for Trump, said the remarks “are crossing a red line. They are racist.”
Rogers tried a line of his own. “As a former FBI agent, we would call that a clue,” he said, then waited for applause that never came.
That morning on Meet the Press, Kristen Welker read Rogers his own words from 2012 about “moderate Muslim Brotherhood individuals we are going to have to reach out to and talk to.” When he claimed El-Sayed isn’t a physician, she told him, “He has an M.D.”
El-Sayed answered Trump that evening. “I get that the President takes personal offense to my first name,” he told the crowd.
“He doesn’t mind as much when it’s the Saudis who are funding his son-in-law’s private equity. Doesn’t seem to mind as much when it’s the Qataris who are giving them a $400 million private jet.”
He also had a thought about the cognitive test Trump keeps bragging about. “In my Neurology unit, I would have to give that MOCA exam,” he said. “The only people you give that test to are people who you worry may have cognitive deficits.”
“By definition, if you’re taking one of those tests, something is wrong.”
Trump’s DOJ charged James Comey a third time, the same day a judge ruled it illegally fired his daughter
On Monday, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman ruled that the Trump administration illegally fired Maurene Comey, James Comey’s daughter, as a federal prosecutor in Manhattan in July 2025.
Furman wrote that the government’s argument “flies in the face of nearly two centuries of Supreme Court precedent.” He ordered retroactive reinstatement and back pay.
Hours later, the Justice Department unsealed new charges against her father.
The former FBI director is now charged under the Espionage Act with transmitting national defense information, plus conspiracy, over a 2016 leak to a reporter. It’s the third time this administration has charged him in about a year. The first case was dismissed. Another is over a photo of seashells spelling “86 47.”
Prosecutors filed it on October 5, 10 years to the day after the alleged leak. His lawyers say that’s when the statute of limitations ran out, and that two earlier sets of prosecutors looked at the same leak and declined to charge.
“These look vindictive. They are vindictive,” former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah said on CNN.
“Nothing’s changed with me. I’m still innocent,” Comey said in a video.
Same family, same day. We’re sure it’s a coincidence.
Trump says Brazil’s election looked “rigged.” He also says he “didn’t take sides.”
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a fourth term on Sunday, taking 51.8% of the vote and beating Flávio Bolsonaro by nearly 4.4 million votes.
On Monday, Trump weighed in. The vote “looked terrible,” he said, and it was “like another rigged election.” He offered no evidence.
“I didn’t take sides,” he said.
In June, he hosted Flávio at the White House and called him a “smart young man who loves his Country, Brazil, very much!”
After Flávio’s father, Jair Bolsonaro, was convicted, the U.S. hit Brazil with new tariffs. Reuters reported that two State Department officials spent the past year pressing American diplomats to undermine Lula’s government.
Flávio first refused to accept the result. Now he says he’ll lead the opposition, and that he’s been ordered to hand over his passports.
Lula had a message for Washington. “This country doesn’t accept being anybody’s colony,” he said.
If a 4.4 million-vote loss looks rigged to Trump, we have a guess what he’ll say next Wednesday.
Trump’s DOJ lost another election case. Then Trump offered $1 million for voter fraud tips.
A federal appeals court panel ruled 2-1 on Monday against the Justice Department’s emergency bid to make California set aside the ballots of more than 20,000 voters it suspects are noncitizens.
Votebeat’s Jessica Huseman wrote that the “DOJ created its own emergency by waiting so long to act.”
“So much losing for DoJ on election stuff,” former national security official Brian McKeon wrote.
Earlier that day, Trump posted that anyone reporting voter fraud “will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!” He didn’t say who would pay or how anyone would check the tips.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he added.
This has been tried before. In 2020, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick set up his own $1 million voter fraud fund. His first payout, $25,000 in 2021, went to Eric Frank, a progressive Pennsylvania poll worker whose tip led to the conviction of a Republican who voted twice.
“This kind of blew up in their face,” Frank said.
Ohio restaurants keep canceling on Vivek Ramaswamy
Two Ohio restaurants have now canceled Ohio GOP events featuring Vivek Ramaswamy: The Old Dog Ale House & Brewery and Elliot’s Wood Fired Kitchen. A stop the party planned for today now lists its location as “to be announced.”
The party is “getting calls that people don’t want him there,” an Ohio Republican told Zeteo.
The venues that did host him over the weekend got buried in one-star Google reviews.
It’s all over his ad starring Amy Acton’s estranged mother, Donna Arthur, who calls Acton a liar. Acton has said her stepfather sexually abused her as a child. Arthur stayed married to him.
Every living Ohio governor, Republican and Democrat, has criticized the ad. It’s still running.
On Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ohio’s largest newspaper, broke its own no-endorsement policy to back Acton.
“A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party,” the editorial board wrote.
“We are better than this. We have a responsibility to show it.”
Trump is still defending the ad. Acton says he “needs to learn the facts of this case. They’re irrefutable.”
⚠️ Tell Democrats to investigate EVERY member of the Trump family for corruption!
The president is not well.
Anyone watching Donald Trump speak on any subject for longer than a minute can tell something is seriously wrong...
