TSA agents missed their second paycheck Friday. Hundreds have quit. Hundreds more just aren't showing up — because people don't work for free.

Security lines at some of the country's busiest airports stretched for hours Monday, wrapping through terminals, past baggage claims, and out onto the curb.

Trump's response: deploy armed ICE agents to airports in 11 cities to "assist with passenger screening." In Atlanta, that assistance looked like clusters of unmasked ICE agents standing behind passengers, watching. Not screening anyone. Not moving any lines.

Dr. Paul Brown had been waiting an hour at Hartsfield-Jackson when he started shouting: "Pay these people! These people who work for $40,000 a year, you're holding them up over some politics."

Congress could fix this tomorrow. Instead, TSA workers are broke, airports are a mess, and armed immigration agents are standing in terminals nationwide. Congressional members, of course, are still getting paid on time.

Iran's parliament speaker called Trump's claim that the U.S. is in talks to end the war "fake news" — and Tehran is backing that up with missiles targeting Tel Aviv. Brent crude nudged back over $100 a barrel Tuesday, up nearly 40% since the war started. Thousands more U.S. Marines are heading to the Persian Gulf, fueling speculation Washington wants to seize Kharg Island, Iran's oil hub.

In Trump's first seven months back in office, ICE detained at least 11,000 parents of American-born children — an average of more than 50 kids separated from their parents every single day, according to ProPublica's analysis of ICE data. Trump is now deporting four times as many mothers of U.S. citizen children per day as Biden did. Under Biden, 30 percent of arrested mothers were eventually deported. Under Trump, it's 60 percent. More than three-quarters of those mothers had only minor convictions — traffic tickets, immigration violations.

Voice of America journalists filed suit Monday charging that Trump loyalists have turned what's left of the historic broadcaster into a White House mouthpiece. Broadcasts into Iran scrubbed U.S. airstrike death tolls and "barely mentioned" a bombed elementary school. Kari Lake's position: "We should be able to have control over what kind of content goes out."

Five conservative justices signaled Monday they're ready to invalidate mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day — a ruling that could disenfranchise millions of voters across more than 30 states. Samuel Alito, seemingly annoyed that voting takes time, complained the U.S. no longer has a single Election Day. The RNC wants every ballot not in "official custody" by Election Day thrown out.
